The Plan

The project is divided into 4 phases including looping trails on property located in the Goldsmith Greenbelt (tree covered area between Goldsmith/Quitman Cemetery and Elaine St), trails through the Hospital property, a connecting trail along the edge of the Mason Nursery into Dawson Park, and a connecting sidewalk from the Goldsmith section to Hogg Park.

The Execution

Some phases will be completed through volunteer labor and local fundraisers which will be easier and quicker to complete, while other phases will involve TXDOT grants and approvals which will take much longer to complete.

The entire project is overseen, owned, and maintained by the Quitman-Lake Fork Kiwanis Club.

Donations and support are greatly appreciated. Donations can be made directly to the club at GoFundMe or Square (or by contacting us). The Quitman-Lake Fork Kiwanis Club is a 501c4 non-profit and donations directly to the club are not tax deductible. HOWEVER there is a Walking Trail Fund with the Quitman Lake Country Charitable Foundation 501c3 non-profit which can accept tax deductible donations designated for the Walking Trail. Donations to through the Quitman Foundation can be made through their website, through this link, or by calling 903-394-8941.
